World of Warcraft Classic has entered Northrend with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion pack. Blizzard Entertainment announced a second sourcebook for Classic on Tuesday and also revealed the next live sourcebook for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight during the live stream. Wrath of the Lich King will be coming to Classic sometime in 2022.

As with previous World of Warcraft classics, the premise is that you already know what's going to happen in Wrath of the Lich King Gold. It's the same extension you remember, with a few small changes.

As a reminder, in Wrath of the Lich King, players must defeat the Lich King, who sits on the Frozen Throne of Northrend and has power over death itself. The Sourcebook contains several new areas for players to explore on their way to Icecrown Tower and the Lich King himself.

The Sourcebook also adds the Death Knight profession, which players can unconditionally create from level 55. Wrath of the Lich King raises the level cap to 80 in World of Warcraft Classic and introduces the Inscription profession. Of course, players can also look forward to the return of classic dungeons like the Violet Hold and Statholm's Knockout, as well as all the raids that first appeared in Wrath.

World of Warcraft Classic is available to current World of Warcraft subscribers, and the Wrath of the Lich King update will be available for free.
